If You’re Working 50 Hours Every Week, Something’s Broken

If you are working 50 plus hours every single week, something is wrong.

Yes, there are seasons.

Yes, there are big events.

Yes, there are weeks where the workload spikes.

But if this is happening every week, all the time, then one of two things is true:

You don’t have balance

or

You’re not aligned with your team and letting them help get the job done.

I know this all too well.

Whether I was trying to do it all myself or simply not delegating well, I lived this for far too long before realizing there was a better way.

Unfortunately, I had to hit burnout to learn that better way.

But the positive side is this:

 There is hope.

There is a way out.

And it starts with the first H in the H3 formula.

HEALTH.

This is step one.

It starts with us.

If we want to be better leaders, better workers, better parents, better humans, it begins with taking care of our health.

Let’s step into the three basic components:

1. Exercise

Any movement you enjoy.

Cardio, weights, hiking, walking.

Movement creates momentum.

2. Nutrition

Hydration.

Protein.

Carbs.

Food that actually fuels you.

3. Rest and Recovery

Sleep.

Real rest.

Evenings where you unplug, read, watch TV, or spend time with your family.

Your body knows what it needs. Listen to it.

Our health is one of the most critical components of how we show up for the people who need us and how we operate at our optimal levels of leadership.

When we prioritize health, we show up:

  1. Stronger
  2. Energized
  3. Positive
  4. Supportive

When our health aligns with our vision, our production, and our ability to lift those around us, we actually eliminate burden from ourselves and show up better for our team and our community.

I mean seriously, who wouldn’t want to be more positive and energized.

Don’t wait any longer.
