Winning doesn’t happen in an instant. It’s built—one day, one decision, one commitment at a time.
Tonight, as we watch Indiana and Miami compete for the national championship, remember: No one saw this matchup coming last January, but I guarantee you—these teams believed it was possible long before the rest of us did. Their journey started in the shadows, in the weight room, before anyone was watching.
In three weeks, two more teams will take the field for the Super Bowl, fueled by a year of behind-the-scenes dedication.
What sets them apart? Commitment.
In sports, that means committing to:
1️⃣ Each other
2️⃣ The workouts
3️⃣ Their studies
4️⃣ Nutrition
5️⃣ Every practice
6️⃣ Exerting the energy to reach their goal
Business—and life—work the same way.
Every day, to serve others, we must first fill our own cup. That’s at the heart of my 24/7 Performance Development Model (more on that soon). The energy you use to lift your team starts with the habits you commit to, even when no one’s watching.
In business, our commitments might look like:
1️⃣ Values
2️⃣ Culture
3️⃣ Meetings
4️⃣ Projects
5️⃣ Strategic Plans
Awards, certifications, and accolades are wonderful, but the real prize isn’t the plaque—it’s the journey, the growth, and the impact you’ve had by showing up, day after day, for your team and your community.
Awards are earned in the spotlight, but championships are won in the shadows of daily commitment.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the award.
It’s about the journey you took, the people you lifted, and the commitments you honored.
