Remember and Learn

Sometimes something happens so suddenly that it catches everyone off guard. In 2020, we experienced this with the worldwide pandemic, COVID – 19. This radically changed the way we handle all day to day business, and it should also serve as a learning experience for how flexible we need to be.

Last week I was cleaning out emails from an account that wasn’t mine and I was literally watching as several weeks of emails had been exchanged with growing advancement to what eventually became a shutdown of facilities. The uncertainty was clear, yet the vision is as clear as mud. This is to be expected. As I read, you could sense the nervousness as people were not sure how to respond or what to do. We all lived it and had the same questions. In fact, right now we still don’t have all the answers and in 2 months, it’ll be a year since the shutdown.

My call to you is remember what we went through, take in what we’ve learned, and let’s keep building forward. When adversity hits nobody has the perfect answer, yet we have to try different solutions. We must advance with confidence knowing we can learn and grow through uncertainty. What we cannot do is be afraid to try.

Fear of failure will prevent us from even trying. We need to be understanding that mistakes will happen and so will growth. I challenge everyone to live forward, take chances, build relationships, and care for people. If we all do these things society will reap amazing benefits. The greatest gift we can give someone is to build them up. The impacts to business will be positive.
