Well, 2020 is in the rear-view mirror and your now sitting in 2021. Is everything better? COVID – 19 gone? Social issues and unemployment gone? The short answer is no. However, what needs to be gone is excuses for not getting things done, delaying, or not improving one’s self and team.
It’s so freaking easy to sit back and blame, complain, and defend (BCD). Get that outta here, no more BCD allowed, and I don’t care what level of employee you are, no room for it if you want to be successful. We all need to refocus like never before and be dedicated to improvement and moving forward. There are more online and free resources available than you can even imagine, we literally have no excuses to not be successful. It simply comes down to motivation.
Whether you need to find a job, lose weight, earn more money, find career advancement, or become a better leader you need to know now is the time, quit waiting. The excuses of 2020 are gone. Deion Sanders took heat last week for saying people are getting soft and were raising kids soft. People are mad because they know he’s right and they don’t like being judged, sorry, not sorry!?
You can be a tough leader with high expectations and still be a caring person who develops people. You can push people through tough learning edges and still be a caring person. In general society simply doesn’t like being told NO. We need to quit being so soft and learn that NO just challenges us to look at things a different way and figure something else out. If we really want to get mentally stronger, we have to learn how to deal with adversity. People get told no or fail at something and they don’t know how to deal with this adversity. We need to teach adaptation, coping skills, and we need to be passionate about what we do.
If you have passion for what your doing you will bounce back, if not, maybe that’s not what you were meant to do. It’s ok to make career changes and find something your motivated to do and passionate about. Without passion forget it, you won’t achieve the high success you want. Passion is a must.
