Run To, Not From

I beg of everyone, examine your life and the circumstances currently surrounding you and ensure you are in fact running to something, not from it. It’s so easy for us to take the comfortable pathway, what we’re used to, or the easy way and it takes true courage, passion, and character to step out of the normal and into the unknown with a mindset on making a difference.

Recently I was blessed with an amazing opportunity to advance in my career and return home to Ohio. Initially, I was worried about such a dramatic change during this environment we are living in. We cannot predict what will go on in 2 weeks right now let alone next month. After a lot of conversation and contemplation with my wife, we struggled to decide on a conclusion. This went on for several days. In the end, after an incredible amount of up and down, we decided to embark on the new journey and we will return home, to Ohio.

The road ahead will be challenging, moving across country is not easy. Selling a home, moving, and buying a new one represents the potential for stressful times. Why am I saying all this? We almost passed on opportunity because of fear rather than settling in tight with faith in God, our relationship, and our family values. During challenging times, it is important to know who you are and what you stand for. These values helped us to dive in, critically evaluate our decision, and eventually move forward.

I always preach to coworkers and clients that when opportunity presents itself it’s to late to prepare. I’ve been preparing for this opportunity for years so I believe in the position and how I can impact the community. We, as a family, have also been building our foundation for years, this allows us the strength to work through adversity and approach each day with a mindset of faith in the future and how we can rely on each other.

As you approach the future, whether this environment or whatever you think is normal just know that the world is changing everyday whether you believe it is or not.
